Many people morn the loss of beer when going gluten free. I was never a big beer drinker, but sometimes, you just need a beer: the Super Bowl, all other sporting events, summer bbqs, college, and there are probably other times. This weekend I was at a going away party extravaganza and the host, who also has celiac, gave me an
Estrella Daura. I had never heard of it before, but low and behold, it actually tasted like beer. I'll be purchasing this for my next beer required event.

There are a few other gluten free beers available. Two of the most common are
Bard's and
Redbridge. They are fine. Daura is better.

Did you have any reaction to this beer? I have read mixed reviews online. I was at Sparrow in Astoria last night and this is the gluten-free beer they sell. I stuck to the Woodchuck Cider instead. Speaking of Astoria, they sell gluten-free beer at both beer gardens in case you are interested.
ReplyDeleteNow that you ask, I had a reaction to something that night, but it didn't occur to me it might have been the beer. Other people have had bad experiences with it? I still haven't been to either beer garden in Astoria. I need to change that ASAP.
